Benny Moonen has been promoted to General Manager at Devoteam Belgium. He has worked with us for over ten years already and been Operational Director since 2012. His aim, together with the management team, is to double Devoteam’s turnover and the number of employees in Belgium by the end of 2020 compared to the end of 2016.
“I’ve been working very closely with my predecessor, Geert Stragier, and Olivier Potmans, my successor as Operational Director, for several years, which safeguards continuity for our customers and more than 300 employees in Belgium”, says Moonen. “Geert Stragier will continue to work as Regional Director for the Belux region and will also start as Offer Director at group level for the Agile IT portfolio. This portfolio generates half of the international Devoteam turnover.”
Belgium is important for Devoteam
Belgium is one of the listed company’s four hubs alongside Germany, Spain and home country France. Most of the group’s investments are made in these hubs, which is why we’re expected to be the driving forces behind the group’s ambitious strategic plan, Scale 2020. Devoteam Belux is aiming to achieve 10% of the group’s turnover by the end of 2020.
“Devoteam Group currently has almost 5000 employees. The targeted growth in turnover, from €555 million in 2016 to €1 billion in 2020, will be paired with further radical investments in our digital competencies, customer-focused innovations and strategic partnerships”, explains Moonen. “We’re planning targeted takeovers in Belgium to strengthen in our core domains. We also want to continue to grow organically at an annual rate of 10%, with a healthy operational margin.”
First Red Hat ‘Professional Services Partner’ in Belgium
“In 2012, Devoteam resolutely decided to focus intensely on digital transformation, which had already been hailed as a fundamental game changer for business in Belgium”, says Moonen. “At the same time, it was the start of fast but targeted growth, which has today given us more than 300 employees and a leading position in the coherent core domains that are advancing the digital world: an Agile IT environment based on a robust cloud infrastructure with DevOps approach; a digital working environment that stimulates intelligent collaboration and innovation; intelligent exploitation of the rapidly-growing world of big data; exhaustive digitisation of business processes which are currently still often being implemented in a very fragmented way; and a solid cybersecurity foundation. Devoteam is also a strong player in the digitisation of the telecom and media landscape in Belgium.”
“We work for large companies and organisations such as BNP Paribas Fortis, Engie, Proximus, the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (RIZIV), Smals and Telenet in Belgium. To achieve our growth objectives in Belgium, we will continue to develop talented employees and appeal to new talents as an attractive employer. I’ll also continue to focus on our strategic partnerships, including Red Hat – for whom we’ve been the only Professional Services Partner in Belgium since December – and I’ll bring other partnerships up to this level too.”
